A group of Gulf
Coast Brangus Breeders are sponsoring a field day in
conjunction with IBBA and the TBBA, in the southern gulf
coast region of Texas. The purpose of the event is to
inform and make available another marketing outlet for
purebred and commercial Brangus cattle.
Events:
1. A
select group of Brangus cattle for viewing.
2. 10:30
am: IBBA and TBBA representatives will demonstrate the
marketing avenues and usage of the IBBA and TBBA websites.
3. 12:00
noon: Lunch provided by Capital Farm Credit, Robstown TX.,
and Purina Mills, Lone Star Country Store in Calallen, South
Texas Implement.
4. 1:00
pm: Dr. Joe Pascual will discuss the problem of high prices
of feed and the options to better utilize the assets you may
have at your location, as well the utilization of Brangus
cattle in this part of Texas.
5. 2:00
pm: Wendland Farms discusses simple and affordable
techniques to utilize embryo transfer and artificial
insemination processes, as well as health protocols from
basic to premier that are affordable to the commercial
producer. Wendland Farms will also be inquiring from all
attending, about their level of interest in consigning their
commercial and purebred cattle to a local consignment sale
in 2009.
6. 3:00
pm: A Purina Mills representative will discuss products
available to carry your cattle through these unusual weather
patterns.
7. 3:30
pm: Capital Farm Credit explains options of financing for
cattle operations, cattle purchases, land purchases, and how
financing may be cheaper than using your own cash.
